Finished painting interior with final coat. Better half says "I like it". Also just finished front shelves rough install; still have to do something to finish the shelf-front-edges but have no idea what yet. Front lip ? Cubbies ? Cabinet doors ? What do you all think ?

Still have to do the shelves in back that will include a drop down table. The aim is to work like the GrassHopper setup with cushions that flip. Will be done some day but probably not before the trip to the Walk the Winds Wyoming gathering. Hopefully the TD will be ready for travel by then.

Yes, she is looking campable with that paint!

I vote for a simple rail edge on the shelves, but it looks like that could come later if you need to spend time on more important things to get ready.

Thanks all. The shelves are just sitting in place loose now, so anything is possible. Was thinking pillows/bedding on bottom & pocket stuff, junk that needs to be handy on these shelves. Plus I have been testing out this light which is thumbs up for our reading, nightlight will clip to shelf-edge:

Yeah, 3 weeks left and still have to do the exterior canvas & paint, electrical, doors, fittings, put fenders back on. Gonna be tight.

Edit: Off to work I go ... beautiful day 73 F and blazing sun but suppose to only get to mid-to-high 80s & Sunday it all goes back to normal Montana cooler weather regime.

Well, weathermen were wrong as usual - 91+ and rising at 2 pm (MT summer temps generally max at around 3-4 pm).

Finished roughing in the door frame consisting of 2ea 1x2 pine, one on flat, the other on edge along the foam. pix below. Anybody who wants to tell me I am doing it wrong is welcome to say so since I am just thinking it looks about right. Will screw & TB II the three frame segments, screw & glue bottom gasket flange to floor (or up thru floor or both). Then Great Stuff the frame members in place with nylon-dry-wall-screw-sets & packing tape.

The idea is the cover the wood along the foam with canvas from outside overlap, gasket on face of wood flange, and homemade screen door between the flange edges. The foam door will also have 1x2 (plus 1/2 ply/osb for an even edge) on its indented (routed) edge to fit into the frame.

Nothing wrong with that. Least not anything I can see from my house.

Just realized need to use 1.5 inch thickness on door. Nobody seems to carry that thickness here but will have to make the rounds to check. Maybe somebody has .75 or .5 inch thick & I could do a glue-up. My usual source has 1" so I could use that w/.25 inch OSB and canvas both sides to make it near 1.5 inches. I don't think I could sand down a 2x26x35 inch foam panel and end up with something vaguely presentable in any case.

It's always something. Fortunately I planned to do the back doors framing differently so they will work out with 2 inch foam.

Why is because 1x2 inch nominal is 1.5 inch wide so the foam sticks out half an inch beyond the wall thickness. I still could add half inch ply or OSB to the edge and have the other 1x2 stick out into the interior more but want to avoid that. Still would need to wrap door in wood and cut out 2x4 insert to mount lock into.

Just trying to make it as simple as possible because that means less chance for me to screw it up :R

EDIT: have cut down the foam door to size & will add the 1x2 s to edges and try sanding it down to see how it looks. can always do something else if it sux.

Show you door work in progress so anybody can pipe up and give an aye or nay ! I am thinking it will work out decent but unsure of how crappy it will look.

Still need to put in door handle wood inset - plan on using one of these:

Either Bevel the edges for a smooth transition or use some type of 1/2” thick moulding... Door trim ...

I was thinking long board and 36 grit sand paper to get it close (don't press too hard or it will chunk out), then 100 grit until you start touching the frame... or hot wire cutter.
