Yes, it came together very quickly. I'm wondering how you attached the door, what you did to seal it, and what method you chose to prop it open. Others who have gone with the gull wing style have commented that they are harder to seal and awkward to close from the inside, so I am curious what your experience has been.

This is awesome. I love the PVC frame. Can't wait to hear how things went on the trip. I'm betting I could do something similar with PVC and foam.

The gull wing door was not entirely a success. I used regular house door hinges at the top, with really long screws to go through both walls of the pvc frame. The screen door locking handle doesn't hold it shut in transit. I installed a grab handle on the frame under the handle and tie it shut. It does keep the door closed when parked, but i need to come up with something better.

On the morning of departure I stopped at home depot and bought a air return grill for the AC. They only had white, so I painted it with the last of my touch up paint. As joked about, I did indeed hit the road Wednesday morning with wet paint.

First day on the road went well. First night was in caprock canyons state park just south of Amarillo.

Got hit by a soaker overnight...loud and bright. We were enjoying our dry beds and didn't feel any water on the inside wall around the Wiley Windows.

Woke up to find that the door seal had failed and everything on the floor was soaked.

Funny thing is, we saw the storm coming in the distance, we both knew we had a tarp, and neither of us thought to throw it over the untested door. I think the pre-vacation week of preparation and last minute construction just had us frazzled.

Most of the drive out of Texas was really pretty and devoid of traffic.

When I picked up the trailer from storage on Monday morning, the corners had clearly continued to expand as they were much lumpier and are starting to split the seams in places.

I'm wondering if the altitude might be the culprit. Built at 500ft, used at 5000ft. Definitely shows that the expanding foam in large forms is unstable. I might need to cut the corners out and do the stacked arches of the pink stuff after all.
