Newbie in Las Vegas

Postby Lvisman96 » Wed Jul 15, 2015 9:52 am

Hello Everyone ~ So glad I came upon this site...the resources, helpfulness and camaraderie is off the chart ! Looking forward to sharing my build with everyone. Looking for an 'off-road' version to take with our Jeep Rubicon...thinking about a 5'x8' trailer from Great Northern (?) as the base for the chassis...I'll be asking a lot of questions to be sure ! Glad to be here ~Dan

Welcome, Dan!
I just bought a Jeep Patriot and will be switching over to make it my main tow vehicle. You should have no problem finding a good fit for off-road use. There are a great bunch of Las Vegas Teardroppers who are also fabulous cooks with Camp & Dutch Ovens. Check out some of their posts/gatherings as they are frequent campers. Enjoy your time spent here on the forum. If you want to find out more about what we cook, and where we camp, click on one of the icons below.

Thanks for the welcome, Joanie...I'm more of an 'eater' than a 'cooker', lol, but I'll definitely check out the links (I'm good at dishes ;-) ) ~Dan

Same here, Dave. You're further along than I am, lol. I still have to clean out my garage when I get back home (traveling at the moment)...at least I figured out what chassis and suspension I'll use (NT 5'x8' with independent suspension)...

 Welcome Dan. Yes, the folks on this site are the best! Everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable. Do yourself a big favor and go to one of the TD outings as soon a possible (without your TD).
You will learn so much and the folks are amazing.

Dan, welcome. You might enjoy reading Joanne's Desert Dawg web site. Joanne is from Las Vegas and built her own teardrop trailer. She is into dutch oven cooking and off road back country camping. She'd be a great mentor if you ever get a chance to meet.
