There’s a show on cable .... BBC America , called Top Gear , where they do strange and silly things to wheeled vehicles... One common sight is little travel trailers negotiating a turn or sideways situation , and the cabin breaking away from the frame ... And they ALWAYS seem to break away at the same point , the wall to floor join ... Just saying, ... I believe we have less problems like that because of the reduced cabin Mass (foam) .. But maybe we should better study the floor to wall join a little more ... Also a good reason for concentrating the weight down low on the trailer , unlike RVs who insist on lots of overhead cabinet and built in weight , and then add insult to injury by putting a heavy AC on the Roof ...
I watch top gear pretty regularly and Jeremy Clarkson has a fairly Un natural dislike for caravans! Great show though and he just as cynical about alot of other things including motorbikes, BMWs speed cameras and producers (he recently got sacked from the show for punching the producer)
Top Gear was one of my favorite shows. Unfortunately, all of the hosts left after the Clarkson thing. In reality, all of their contracts were up this year, they aren't getting any younger and I believe the Argentina episode really scared them. While many things they did were fully set up, there were a lot of things that went really, really wrong or were just cool!
Hammond came very close to death, spent months in the hospital after he wrecked the jet dragster. Jeremy broke multiple bones in the episode where he drove the semi through the brick wall.
They drove to the north pole. Got in trouble with MADD because they were mixing drinks as they drove their HiLux over the ice cap. In Jeremy's words, they were not "drinking and driving", they were "boating"
The "Alabama" episode was classic and the attack on them did happen by the local yokels.
In the 2014 Argentina Special, they were actually pretty lucky they and the crew made it out without serious injury. They were chased by a mob of over 300, the crew spent over 4 days hiding out.
The drive across central Africa was a classic.
Best of all was when they drove the Toyota pickup from England to France...not through the chunnel but on the water.
2nd best would be when Jeremy did a "serious" review on a Ford Fiesta, and used it with the Royal Marines as an amphibious assault vehicle. He hates the Fiesta and a supposed fan said that the show did not do serious reviews on cars people can actually afford. So Jeremy did his "serious" review on the Ford Fiestas. This is WELL worth your time watching if you've never seen the show.
******* Dave and Regina - Enjoying old age, a LOT!
OK, In truth what I saw of the show was pure Tosh , and I never watched it for long ... We get no kicks from tearing up things ... only building them ...
