frame update--- after leveling the 'spine' and securing it to my stage, here it is welded and ready for the outer curves and rib supports. i'm moving slowly but steadily after working out a schedule with my neighbour, whose bedroom window overlooks my new quiet hobby. actually i have no quiet hobbies. if i'm not in the yard grinding something, or using a tile saw to cut stone, or smelting aluminum and bronze, then chances are i am in the house on the drum kit or electric guitar. or on the 1979 yamaha sr500. not a quiet bike. praying she sticks by the old adage 'love thy neighbour" !! thanks for looking !

ok----day (?) early anyways. moving forward---frame base is nearly complete. a few more square tubes at the rear, and some corner curves--made from 1 x 3/16 flat -- coming up today and tomorrow..
the busy section above the wheel wells is bearing the brunt of foot traffic, possibly being between 2 doors. the bulk of the floor south of the wells is bed space so i won't be beefing it up so much.
thanks for looking !

ok continuing on with 'project why"----- got the curves sorted out. 1 layer of 3/16 x 1' flatbar. it just got too damn hot out there to go any further today. 30 degrees celcius in the yard and probably closer to 40 in the heat-well i am welding in.

Not quite what I had pictured in my head ;)

Looks just like the inspiration pic in your first post here. You nailed it! :R  :R

Safety Note: Be careful if welding inside of that blue tarp tent. Those things may or may not be very flammable. WOOOOOF!!!

hey wavebreaker--thanks for the tool offer. i too have a tube bender, and the cage will be 3/4 " rounds. there's a few more days of tidbits on the floor before i can move on to that, though.
and kc studly---i shall do a flame test on that tarp--thanks (i'll snip a corner off and light it elsewhere---don't worry)

today's update----not much done, but still moving forward ! re-enforced the front corners by doubling up the 3/16 flat bar, and installing 1 x 1 square tube cross brace and poke. that's it... oh ya and flipped the unit over (again) so as to be ready to weld the other side tomorrow. if i can get away with some grindy noise then i will also clean up the welds that need it. after that it's on to the cage. cheers all
