Here are the completed galley lips. There's also a picture of what they look like against the wall frame so that you get an idea of their placement. Also, notice that I cut them up 1 5/8" from the bottom (the thickness of the floor).

I used stack of cinder blocks to make a platform for gluing together the sandwich walls. Here is a pic of the outer skins going on.

You can see that there are pairs of cinder blocks pressing on each side of the work. The cinder blocks cost $26 so overall a cost effective method.

When I cut the spaces out of the wall frame using the jig saw I kept all the pieces. Today, I arranged them on the foam that I had left over from insulating the floor. There was just enough. I traced around the wood onto the foam using a permanent marker. Then I used a jigsaw and cut the foam out.

The foam was installed into the voids of the wall frames using loctite pl premium polyurethane glue.

Long time since I've posted but I've been working between rain storms! Here's a picture where I built one of the galley panels. Sticking with my tongue and groove construction technique.

I decided to have sliding cabinet doors both over the counter and in the cabin. The reason being that I didn't want doors swinging over the stove and into cooking pots.

I discovered I could build door track using my router table and the tongue bit. This saved me quite a bit.

Under the counter I decided to make inset doors with rounded corners. Gives it that 50s art deco look. They will be finished in mint green. The insides of the doors will be cut away to leave only a frame. Then I will adhere 1/4 veneer ply and flush cut it with the router. The doors will still appear thick and solid but it will cut the weight way down.

Here's the panel that goes behind the counter and above the stove. You can see the tracks installed in the second picture. This will house two bypassing sliding doors with rounded corners. The doors will have simple, round, inset pulls of satin steel.

Thanks! The goal is to have the walls, headliner, and galley installed by next weekend. I'll have some nice pictures of the galley assembly soon.
