Thanks junkboy999. Here in sa the offroad thing is quite big. The offroad trailers or 4wd vehicles with rooftop tents. The caravans are popular and then for the budget people like me, tents. I am in the early planning stages of a teardrop-ish trailer. Am scanning the net and this forum for ideas. Have been in contact with 1 other builder here in sa. I think sa is a great camping country. Just need to pay everywhere. No national free entry parks etc. I'm not much of a happy snappy. No picks to share yet.

JO, one well designed and well thought out US tear is made by http://adventuretrailers.com/ . There are a number of Australian off road manufacturers, one example http://www.australianoffroad.com.au/
I will be interested in what you come up with.

Welkom hier by ons! (Wecome here with us)
With the weakness of our currency and virtually no TnTTT industry, anything other than normal hardware sore stuff is hard to find and expensive. BUT if you set your mind to it, there are detours to all the roadblocks.
Happy building !

Welcome aboard JoBotha ...
:shake hands:

I think the Tear Drops are becoming more popular down there ... I have seen posts from RevelSa and Andre, both from SA ...
:applause: :applause:

I made a number of trips to SA, JoBerg, Lanseria, Pretoria and turned into a "Snappy Happy", whoops, "Happy Snappy" at the great animal parks ... Good luck on your build and hope to see a few pics along the way ...
