one man canoe loader --finally got it

Postby PKCSPT » Sun Aug 23, 2015 5:41 pm

I am sorry I asked this a couple years ago and before I could make a purchase life got busy. Now I can not find my previous post. I want to get a one man canoe loader, but how do I find one for my hitch? I don't see size options and as I have the smaller 2000 lb hitch want to make sure I get the right size. I just don't see sizes mentioned.
So I bow down to those who do these searches better than I ask your help.

I used one like this many moons ago. It worked great. The adapter lets you hook up the trailer when needed. It has a rack for the top of vehicle. I used straps to tie down and quickly learned that you need to put twist in them or the singing vibration will drive you crazy. The rear post I had was pointed and fit on the hole on the hitch or adapter when trailering.. I was easy to use. Just strap it down properly.

Probably not what you're looking for, but just this weekend I had the same quandary.

This video fit the bill, and when I tried it myself yesterday, it worked like a charm.

Went to the new Cabellas, in Woodbury Minnesota and they had them on sale, $95. So I picked one up, went to my son's where my canoe is (he "borrowed" it) and it was easy. Can't wait to get out in the old canoe. Gonna be a couple weeks but so close now . Hook up the camper load the canoe and post I pick. Who says a Beetle isn't versatile

I am so happy so very happy.
Just a trial run to see how well the canoe rides up there. This week going to hook up the tear load the canoe and my family faces their biggest fear. Will I come back?
