Found a trailer... cheap.. what do you think?

Postby clock152 » Tue Aug 25, 2015 7:44 am

Found this one close to me on Craig's list for $50... what are your thoughts? I'm not sure it would be worth it try and build on.. looks a bit flimsy and I have never ran a welder in my life.

I am the king of cheap and I am sorry to say that I would just walk on by !

I have been given (yes given) several nice camper trailers that were complete.

There are bargains out there. Some times you just need to walk up knock and ask !

Owning that trailer would only end in tears.

Does it have a torsion axle?
If so there might be $50.00 of value there.
If not, I agree with Bob......walk away!

Here ya go ! http://tulsa.craigslist.org/for/5165051018.html

Good tires ($200)
nice lighting package ($20.00 +/-)

nice wood bed (100.00 +/- in lumber)

tongue jack ( $30.00 +/- )

Would cantilever out and make a nice 4x9 maybe a 4 x 10

You could go 5 wide with a little work around on the wheel wells.

I'd buy it for 50 if axle looked good and hubs were something a common tire would fit. I'd keep the axle and scrap the frame.

Wow!
For the money, that is a very nice trailer and a good size for a tear.

Well so am I !

but perhaps you missed the point If you beat him down $50.00 to an even $400.00 and subtract all the extras you are getting YOU still have a $50.00 trailer with a hell of a nice frame and ready to use.
