Being a non smoker when I arrived at a campsite long ago I was shocked that I had no matches !

I didn't see them on your list !!!

Best have a “practice " camp in the backyard... a test ! Anything missing will immediately become obvious .
There’s no place like Foam !

Bug repellent, cortisone cream, and I like to bring a couple of small boards in case I need to level out the trailer a bit.

mate, a little like bobhenry but was a smoker then gave it away 10 years ago and my first camp trip after that ???? yep no lighter or matches :x . Always make sure you have them or a lighter or better yet a zippo as in an emergency, if out of fuel, you can dip it into the petrol tank and its good to go. :D OH yeah a can opener would be good too (don't ask)

Make a list of what you have & take it with you. Tick off the items as you use them, add to the list of what you've forgotten (there will be some) as you go.
My list of stuff is pretty basic, but I generally tailor equipment to where I am going and depending on the season. Leave the 10/22 behind if I'm going to be staying at MeadowPark, for instance. There's a nice appropriate shop over the road if I need the artillery at short notice anyway!
Here's hoping the weather treats you well for the trial run

You may want to use one of the camping check lists available on this forum. You can evaluate the use of all the items on the list for use in your camp. :wine:

1 hank of paracord added
1 head lamp (torch)
Bin liners too

All I need to do is shoot a couple of rabbits for lunch tomorrow and I am sorted.
