Mike I know about the frequent password changes!!! It is a very good idea from an Admin. side to do that Just set yourself a calender to change at odds intervals to a new password and use a postit sticky at home on the computer and keep an emeryency on with you just incase.

I have determined what the problem is. Someone is using 'Guest' as a username and it's got the whole system confounded.

It wasn't me... Go to the phpbb support forum.
It appears that all older versions of phpbb have been hacked by a worm of some sort and they (Incident Investigation Team) recommend that all webmasters shut their boards down and get in touch with them, so they can compare back ups to what's actually on the current board.
