I used a full size because it was almost $200 cheaper than a custom size to fit my almost queen bed area. That gave me room to make the bed and fit a sheet by slding the mattress around. I use sleeping bags on top so I then bought a couple large swim noodles and pushed the mattress to my wife's side and headboard and used the noodles to hold the sheets tight and fill in the gap at feet and my side. I do not notice the gap and got a full 3-4 extra ins of mattress space for less than $20. They also keep stuff from falling in the crack

Its quite comfy, but when I am laying on it just right, I do bottom out the foam.

6" of foam would be nicer. If I had it to do over again I would have sprung the extra for this

Thanks for the tip. Bought 2 of the 4" for kids bunk beds. Wife cut them to size with an electric knife and with the mattress cover on you can't tell they weren't made to size. Great bargain.

You can use ALL of the mattress without fear of falling out of bed so a full vs a queen is all but a mute point.

I'm about 6'5", so length was a bigger issue. I found an Aussie who tried to get his wife to go camping (no luck) and was selling a queen size foam mattress on craigslist for only $80. I cut it down to 58" width and it fits perfectly.
