new guy..

my wife and i recently took a trip to the beach and to save ridiculous motel costs, setup to camp in my honda element. which actually works fine but is a little cramped and little bit warm even with a couple fans. besides having to unpack everything to make room for sleeping and having to partially repack if we wanted to leave the campground. i got to thinking.. what if i had a small trailer to pack my stuff in and also bring my motorcycle with for trips out of campground? A small amount of googleing led me to homemade teardrop trailers and this site and here i am designing my own already! I'm going with Foam construction as i think that will be lightest, easiest and I've built a lot of foam rc planes so I'm familiar with working with foam. my plan is to build a small foamy that i can also haul my motorcycle in. no frills, no galley, just an air-conditioned, heated bedroom basically. Once i get started I'll start a build thread on it. anyways here some pics of my element setup for camping.. 135637135638

also a pic of the beautifull beach at henderson state park in Destin Fl...135639

Just me ,but the galley is really what make a teardrop a teardrop. It is really nice not having to pack and unpack to make a nice meal. A galley also makes a nice drink bar. A blender some fruit and ice(alcohol?) PARTY!

i plan on packing a small grill or using the grills you find on most campsites. I wouldnt mind a galley its just that if i want to haul my motorcycle in the trailer i cant build a traditional teardrop galley in the rear because ill need that to open so i can load the bike.....
