Spray Foam Insulation

I just stumbled across this site for spray foam. Since I have already insulated my trailer, I did not take the time to digest the claims, but it just might interest others.

I would be concerned about the expansion and what it may do to the surrounding wood or anything else that may try to contain it. Especially in a confined area.

It's a good product for insulating, but the biggest down-side I can see is with finishing the sprayed surface. I have a friend who uses this system to build homes & it's great for the insulating value R-factor, it works better than most other types of insulation on the market now. He's just finishing with sheet rock & standard wall finish, so no issues, but it's a real booger to deal with if the person spraying puts too much in place & it bulges out of the cavity. At that point it must be saw-cut & sanded to get a flat surface again.

No reason it won't work. It's being used more in the building industry with panelized construction techniques. Look up SIP wall systems in Google & see what you find.

The Northwestern was done with spray foam insulation

Today was insulation day... At first, I felt a little guilty for not doing the work myself. Now, not so much... Applying spray foam insulation is work thats better left to professionals. These guys worked hard for about 5 hours. It would have taken me a month!

That professional work looks, well, very professional. I am sure you will love it. I had investigated a professional job for my CT but thought the price was too high....something in the $888-$999 range.
Based on what I actually spent for EPS and other for the ceiling, it would only have been a few hundred more. Now I wish I had followed through with spray foam.

I looked into getting one of these kits .The cost was high. Could do the same with 4 by 8 sheets and can foam. for a lot less .If you can get Nitrogen gas you can make your own 2 part kit. with 2 used through away party tanks
