I am a plant maintenance mechanic in a Sewerage treatment plant. So, when you are in Columbus, Ohio, and, use the bathroom, please flush twice. It is job security for me!

I started my career as a professional sound / recording studio engineer, and after 8 or 10 years couldn't take the pressure so I became a technical writer. When I retired 30 years later I managed the worldwide technical documentation efforts of a Silicon Valley semiconductor manufacturer.

I'm refurbishing a 14ft Aristocrat Lo-Liner trailer between travels in my vintage 1948 teardrop trailer.

Oh, and I make beer, as those of you who have met me at various gatherings can attest.

As the signature says, jack if all trades.... veteran, aircraft hydraulics mechanic, and later aerial refueling boom operator, retired firefighter/paramedic instructor (station captain), cabinet maker, metal worker, food service, recreational therapist, jeweler, cell phone repair, and now direct support professional for developmentally disabled adults. Hobbies include, computers, cars, woodworking, camping, bush craft/survival, fishing, hunting, kayaking, cycling....

I have been accused of having ADD Look, a duck! But I think those folks are mistaken

I love the idea of building my own TD. Even if I had the money to go plop down on a shiny new camper, I would end up modifying it until it no longer resembled the original anyway. By building it myself, I not only get the satisfaction of camping in something I crafted by hand but, it will be built exactly the way I want it. And if I had to label myself, I would have to say craftsman. I love using antique hand tools whenever possible, though I am just as comfortable using modern power tools if thats what it takes to get the job done.

Let's see, I worked in a Grocery Store in Highschool. To get money for college, I Enlisted in the Army after highschool and was trained as an Electronics Warfare/Intercept Systems Repairman (Military Intelligence specialty) which is a fancy name for an Electronics Technician specializing in intercept systems and communication systems. During my first (and only) enlistment (Active Reserves) I went to work for an Aerospace Company which I am still at 32 years later. After the active duty part of the Army Reserve enlistment and starting work in the commercial world, I got married, earned a BS degree and an MBA while the kids were young. My various jobs at the company I work for in order : Radar Technician, Metrology (Calibration Lab) Engineering Technician, Technical Support Engineer, Engineering Department Manager , Product Line Manager and now a Program/Product Line Manager. I am looking forward to slowing down and semi-retiring in a few years. I have traveled extensively in my various roles. I also own my own rental property management company (small LLC) and manage some rental houses I own. I am an amateur home remodeler and have a few total bathroom and kitchen remodels under my belt which I have done on my rentals. I addition to being an all around handyman with some experience fixing Air Conditioners, Appliances, Electrical systems, plumbing, tiling, and minor carpentry work ( a must if you own rentals), I have many hobbies to include PC's, Programming (C++ and Visual Basic), HAM Radio Operator with Extra Class License, Scuba diver, Dirtbiking, Hunting, camping, and fishing. I am a Deacon at my Church and a Sunday School teacher. I have been married to the same girl for 32 years and have three wonderful children (2 daughters and a son) whom I am very proud of. Just this year, my son and his wife made my wife and I proud grandparents. 52 is too young to be a Grandpa! :) I really enjoyed building my CTC Toy Hauler and have plans to build a larger one with a few more amenities so my wife can tag along on my adventures. She's not really into camping and the hobbies I have, but she is a big fan of me doing the things I like to do. We enjoy doing our own thing together  :-)

I've always worked as a graphic designer and musician. Now I pretty much just play music, mainly the stand up bass.

Started life in molecular biochemistry -- working in DNA chemistry when it still was a manual process with p32 radioactive label. Bit of a closet engineer from my undergraduate studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)

Tried teaching high school - physics and chemistry. Too much work trying to get kids to want to learn subjects I loved.

Changed to computer science -- at the start of the PC age. Went through startups ( and stops ). Merged my computer science and biochemistry while working at a biomedical startup that was bought out by Merck for a decade. Currently doing forecasting and planning computer work.

My first hobby was running -- 15 years from high school on. Distance runner -- slow but steady. Did 6 marathons -- best time about 2:50 or 2:51 but quicker than 2:52. (Marathoners will understand this distinction) No longer in that kind of shape.

My current hobby for the last 25 or so years is dogs. Raising, showing, loving dogs. Main breed is Scottish Terriers. Dogs that we produced live all over the world. Our dogs have gone best in show at Westminister and best in show at Crufts. There are probable more men have walked on the moon than have accomplished this success in dogs.

Software carries over into my non-work hours. Currently building some computer projects in my spare time ie a Joomla contact and survey extension and an Android app for dogs. Doing some Arduino programming -- thinking about adding it to my TD design -- save space and greatly improve the flexibility of the wiring/control system/battery monitoring plus silly things like programmable LED lighting.

Another hobby is photography. Do a lot of dog pictures -- mostly to chronicle the dog shows and our travels. Will have to remember to photography my progress.

Not your typical construction/craftsman/woodworker. Most of experience is self-taught, doing repairs, remodels to my parents home and our houses over time. Will have to see how well I can do cabinetry, as that is what most of these builds are.

By the time I graduated high school, I knew I was tried of education. But what to do? Heck, I didn't know. So I went to one year of college. I had a good time. Really good time. But not so good on the studies. Joined the National Guard to get training as a dental lab technician. Did that for about ten years. Loved it and was really good at it, but there was no pay, no benefits and no advancement.

So I went to the USPS. Which is where I've been retired from for 7 years. I always thought retirement would be great. It's a hundred times better than that.

Been into vintage VW buses for 35 years. Bought my first in 1980. Took a one year loan for the $800 to buy it.

Fifteen years chasing wildfires. The last eleven were in Alaska. Some old Athabascan in the upper Yukon has been spreading a rumor that I caught one once. And then twenty-two years chasing poachers in Idaho.

In retirement, I run around and teach a bit of forensics and write––both non-fiction and fiction. I do enjoy tellin' a story. That's when I'm not napping or camping.

It's been a good ride.
