A contrasting front color leading into flames down the sides

Dan I was wondering who would suggest flames! I have a flair for ghost flames. Laid out a few in the past that looked pretty good. The ghosting effect is really something I like. Thanks for the input!

Michael,

I really like the boomerang/swoosh graphic and using a drop shadow as KC suggested. If you wanted to embellish to get an "atomic age" look you could add a few simple 4-point or 6-point starbursts in the white spaces around the boomerang/swoosh.

Take care,
Tom

Yep Tom, you're right on the money! Those starbursts were a huge part of the Googie era! I've got to figure out how to incorporate those into the design somehow...

Star bursts with little dingle balls on the tips of each flare/spike.

I was going to say you are speaking my language KC... But then you said dingle balls.

But you've definitely got the right idea going on!

A starsky and hutch stripe would do the trick too!

At least he didn't say dingle berries. Maybe they're the same and it's a regional thing, what they're called. I did catch KC saying "youse" once. Made my ears bleed. :R

I was going to suggest ghost flames but didn't know how subtle you wanted to be. I really like the ghost flames on a candy metallic paint job. I have been wanting to pus some on my silver truck for along time. If you google "flamed teardrop trailer" you will see a few examples. I think it depends on what kind of statement you want to make. Ghost flames will give that subtle look and some may not even notice while contrasting flames will say look at me and draw attention.

Another idea is a clean paint job with nice airbrushed mural (water along the bottom and a couple boats racing) to go along with your racing, or maybe at least a mural on the rear end would look cool

now now don't count out the naked three breasted gargoyle dom thing cresting a rocky crag on a winged snake while the heads of her vanquished foes stare forlornly from battered pikes behind her. is that a hint of remorse in her eye ? or seduction ?
