I guess I was holding judgement on the flap until the bigger theme becomes more apparent. It sounds like it could be a really cool application, using the textured Ally to contrast with the green... if it is not over done and kept subtle.
Not sure I would bother using both the canvas an ally; maybe just a good overlap where they join. How are you going to trim the edges?
Perhaps less pointy flap and more of a three barbed spear (like the deco designs Doug Hodder is using on his MobilGlide interior)?
What will the front look like, Ally all the way to the bottom of the front wall?
Rather than cut out a logo and create more opportunity for moisture to get under the skin, maybe paint the logo? (I was going to say, or matching color vinyl decal, but that probably wouldn't work too well with the textured surface.)
Adding a 1 inch wide black stripe between the ally and paint might make all the world of difference; either trim or paint.
