Li'l Bear Tag-Alongs is Closing!

Postby grant whipp » Fri Sep 18, 2015 2:33 pm

Yes, it's true ...

... after over 32 years in the business & pleasure of Teardrops & Teardropping, I've decided to close my doors altogether and enjoy full retirement to go along with our wedded bliss!

And yes, the rumors are true ...

... Kay & I were married on August 8th, at Railroad Park Resort in Dunsmuir, CA:

We are currently negotiating with a couple of companies with regards to taking over the marketing & sales of our Galley Lid Hinge, Crank-out Windows, and our line of Fiberglass Fenders, and will let you know who ends up with which when all the dust settles.

In the meantime, we will be selling off most of our left-over stock a little at a time, as we pull it out & inventory it all, and will post those parts somewhere here on the Forum as well as our teardrops.net Facebook Page.

The old/current website will be coming down in the not-too-distant future, and will be replaced with some general teardrop info and history. The LB phone number will be going away, too.

So, with all of that, Thank You! for all your past patronage, support, and tolerance & understanding! It's been a great 32-plus years, and I've thoroughly enjoyed almost every minute of it! And just so you know, I DO take a certain amount of pride in the contributions that I/we have made to the business, lifestyle, and the community that we have come to know & refer to as "Teardropping" ... I have endeavored, over the years, to keep my ego in check in that regard, and I hope I have been at least somewhat successful ... ;) ...!

Look for Kay & I at upcoming events throughout the country in the years to follow ... we may be retiring from the business, but not from the pleasure! Good Luck in all your projects, travels, and everything that you do ... and as always ...

CHEERS!

What a great setting for an old railroad buff like yourself to get married.
I had to do a double take, with you in a vintage suit and hat, you both look great.
Best of wishes for your well deserved retirement and marriage to Kay.
Life is full of changes, some for the better, like this one, as you'll be able to enjoy retired life and marriage to the fullest.
Hope to see you two at a gathering soon.
:D Danny

Grant,
You have made a great difference in the lives of so many. Thank you for doing your best to make teardropping a family affair. The world of camping is a better place because of your 32 years as ambassador, front man, and just a plain good guy.

Enjoy your retirement.

Hey! Parts are parts. It's my understanding that what made your parts desirable was the man standing behind them.

Congratulations. Retirement is awesome.

What a lovely bride. Great photos and theme for your wedding. Congratulations are in order!

Nothing wrong with taking pride in the level of service and you have provided within the community by being such a great emissary. So seldom do you find someone with so much enthusiasm that they are willing to share "trade secrets" with customers that could take work away from your own endeavors, but so many times the people you have helped have commented on how you spent much of your time helping to explain the techniques that you have developed over the years. Cheers to you!

Do you think you will ever get back to the round front wheelhouse build?
