Another newbie question -- any Glampers here?

Postby CLChastain » Wed Oct 07, 2015 4:51 pm

Guess I'm behind the times, but I only discovered the terms glamping and glampers the past few months....

It just depends on how far into glamorous you want to go. Most people try to theme or at least color coordinate. Our trailers being tiny, most of us don't go in for a lot of things that take up space and serve little purpose. I sometimes set a small vase of fake flowers on the counter and hang a picture and things are pretty much color coordinated. That's about as far as I go.

 That's a good one. I didn't even notice that the question wasn't in the body of the thread.
It's in the subject title: "Any Glampers Here?"

It seems to me that if you have a Teardrop, plain or fancy, you're glamping at least a little. The more fancier, the more glamporous.

I Am with the capn I feel like I am glamping in my tear, especially when I get electricity. But mine isn't very color coordinated or any kind of theme.

Glamping? Lots of room for interpretations with this word. I remember when I was on a pop-up forum and "camping" was discussed  - LOTs of cussing too, ha. ha. It turned into a pretty heated discussion with many "defending" their version of the word. I had a  and enjoyed reading through it.

Everybody's interpretation is different.

Me? Well I won't have flamingos or any other decorations in my gear but just the idea of wanting a camper of some sort makes me feel like a glamper... Lots of years in a tent; car camping, backpacking, mountaineering and kayaking. A camper will feel like glamping to us.

Go for what you like is my way of looking at it... 8)

My major emphasis is functionality but in saying that i havnt skimped on fittings and fixtures, glass mosaics, every things marine grade stainless matching kettle ,coffe tea and sugar tins as well as spice jars...
I figured if ive gone to all this troble building it over the last year or so it might as well look the part plus i want it to be a real home away from home and turn a few heads

Sleeping off of the ground, in a warm cabin, with curtains, interior lights, music, movies, ventilation, air conditioning, and a super comfy bed. Along with a Galley that has real cutlery in the drawers, lights, stove, food bins, matching plates, wine rack, and a running fridge with usable counter space.......makes "Teardrop Camping" ........GLAMPING!
In my opinion anyway??

There are glampers who load up a bunch of accoutrement to decorate their campsites with and those of us (myself included) who simply make all needed items as decorative/stylish/visually appealing as possible.

It would be nice if tnttt had a "Glamping" forum. Just say'in
