Wow man great work. Coming right along. I'm pretty jealous of your progress for sure. You are a get 'er done kind of guy! So keep in mind I know absolutely nothing about this process, but wondering how long it takes for it to dry completely through. It seems like most chemicals want to skim on the surface first and then the rest takes longer to dry underneath because of the lack of air or whatever. So I'm just wondering how soon you can safely paint.

Gos off like a rocket micheal.
Depends on temperature but full cure they say is 24 hours but the last lot i did in hotter weather was bone dry in far less.
The bottle says to clamp a wooden join for 30 mins but not to stress the join for 24 hours

No. Still in storage. By the time race season is over and I'm done traveling, Carrie is tired being home and ready to get her travel on. Our summer together is everyone else's fall. I've really got the itch because I'm not far from paint... Maybe go get it next weekend.

Basically finish frenching in the taillights and license plate and seam the edge with carbon fiber. So let me ask you this... I know you want the texture of the canvas, which is so foreign to me because all I ever do is make everything smooth... Just trying to figure you canvas guys out.

Well i generaly like things smooth aswell but this has jut evolved as ive gone on and ive changed ideas and finishes several times as times progressed.
Mostly i just like to do things a bit different so the whole pmf thing appealed to me.
Kinda rat rodish combination of rough and new

Michael, in my tests the 10oz canvas actually has a smoother texture than the 6oz glass cloth. So the canvas is miles ahead after initial application. One coat of thick latex primer, a little scuff to remove fabric nibs, and the weave is almost gone. In comparison, the glass took another wet coat squeegeed on and the tops of the weave were still prevalent.

I think you could easily get the canvas very smooth with just two primer coats and one good top coat, maybe two.

Much different method than we use. But of course we are top coating with polyurethane rather than latex. We also sand the glass prior to using a 2k primer or polyester primer.

Sure is.
I devaloped a method for dealing with bubbles while its drying and it seems to work.
Ive just got up this morning and there was one bubble that i attacked with the iron and it seems to have done the trick.
Ive found while its still drying you can get neat tb2 and massage it into the bubble with your fingers and spritz with a little water to work it through the canvas.
Sometimes it requires a bit of a rub with your fingernails to get it to behave but none of tbe bubbles reapeared.
Its looking unbelievable good except for one small blemis in the ply underneath that i missed but i wont loose any sleep over it
