Hello from Oklahoma City

Postby UnAverage Joe » Sun Sep 27, 2015 12:32 pm

Hello all! I have sparked an interest in teardrop trailers after seeing one being pulled on I-40 Hwy and thinking to myself "What in the world is that?!" Like many, I have been reading up on posts on this Forum looking at information and ideas of how and what I want to try and build. I have been stuck on the trailer aspect...going with an Ironton (Northern Tool) 5x8 or trying to find someone to weld me one. Then the thought of electric and wiring and all that makes me cringe since I know nothing about it. So we shall see what happens! I look forward to the adventure ahead of me (my wife...not so much! Haha!)

About me: I am 28 years old and am from/still live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I have a decent amount of knowledge/experience working with wood. I enjoy hunting and camping and mostly want to use a teardrop trailer for when I go on hunting trips. Tents in 20-40 degree weather is not fun!

Welcome Joe, Yes hunting and sleeping in a tent is the pits. I sliped my Foamie down the hill and spent the night in it. The next morning the deer were looking at it. I know I will get one this year. you will enjoy it in the winter!

Hey Joe, There are teardrop builders in and around OKC that will gladly answer questions on your build. I live in Tulsa and can also answer questions or maybe even give your project a once over when I'm in OKC visiting the daughter and grandkids. Hope to meet you and the Miss at a South Central Gathering soon.

Welcome, there are several people around OKC, we pass through regularly visiting kids in Dallas, or camping somewhere down there. Good luck!
