Hello from Baton Rouge LA

Postby big44g » Sat Oct 10, 2015 9:02 pm

It's time for me to stop lurking. So after several years of talking about it, lurking on this Board and watching a friend complete his build I decided it was time to start my build . We love to camp in National Parks and in the middle of nowhere, such as BLM land in Utah, etc. So I decided on an off-road model. It will be a 10 foot Benroy, since I am 6'4 and need the extra room. I plan on using Solar power as my main source of power. I have got most of the frame complete, just waiting on delivery of some additional metal to hang the water tank. I know I will be needing help and answers that I am sure I can get from the members of this great board.

I think I will just go ahead and thank everyone now

Welcome Gary,

I know it's quite a drive from Baton Rouge, but if you want to meet some folks and see a bunch of teardrops and campers, there is a gathering a Lake Bistineau SP next weekend. Saturday night is a pot luck dinner. Join us if you can. No need to bring anything other than an appetite. There'll be plenty of food. I think there are a few campsites available so you're welcome to camp with us too. Take care,
Tom

Thanks for the invite. I would love to go but want to wait and go with a Teardrop camper. Just got back from 10 days of camping in Southern Utah (Tent or under the stars) . However, this year we had a few more night in a hotel than in prior years. This year's experience (bad) of sleeping on the ground has made me accelerate my plans to complete my camper.
