Yet Another Benroy Build

So after searching for the last 6 months or so for a donor trailer I gave up and bought a new one purpose build for a teardrop. It's going to be a 5'x8' modified Benroy using the 36" radius curve for the rear profile that was posted by @Tommy2tone_1999. Thank you sir I hope you don't mind me borrowing your design.

Okay now that I've figured out how to post pictures here's day one of construction. Nothing too exciting or out of the ordinary, 1/2" brown pressure treated plywood with cedar 2"x4" frame. I then flipped it upside down and painted on the roofing seal.

Life got in the way for the last week or so but I'm back at it. Got both sides cut out today using a home made circle jig for my router, the front radius is 20" and the rear 36".

I cut out the door template but it was getting a bit late and I didn't want to rush it.

Got the doors cut out of both sides and stained 1 of them. I bought this 3/4" plywood on sale at a local building center that was labeled birch but I've never seen grain as interesting as this on birch plywood.

I found this battery while cleaning up the shop, it was covered in dust sitting under a bench behind some other junk. We think it was left by a previous tenant. I charged it up and it's been holding at 14.5V for over a week. I guess I've found my power source for my TD.

Well, aren't you lucky.

I like the look of that birch. Does the other side look the same?

One of the sheets looks the same on the other side but the second sheet looks like regular birch with a few patched knots. I can't complain since it was advertised as G1S and marked down $20. The outside will be gorgeous and the inside will look good too.

Finally got 3 coats of Helmsman on the sides and floor and after taking the long weekend for hammock camping got the walls up.

Glued the floor down after putting 3 coats of poly on it. This is Baltic Birch versus the sides which are Veneer core birch from the local lumber yard, neither are stained just coated with straight Helsman semi-gloss.

Coming along nicely
