Hi from sunny South Africa

Good day to you all
This is my first post on this site and really excited to be in touch with you. We are a bit isolated here from the teardrop and small trailer world. My story is pretty similar to a lot of people in that we have been camping for a long time in tents and decided to upgrade to a trailer. I came across pics of teardrops and loved the shape straight away. At first i thought the shape to be impractical for efficient packaging but the more I planned and schemed the more it made absolute sense. My final design is a steel spaceframe clad in alluminium. the interior is clad in plywood same as the classics.
So instead of starting with a trailer frame I positioned all the items that I want to be included and drew the frame around them.My business is metal fabrication so i am building as much of the trailer my self. The trailer is about 50% done but progress is not as fast as I would like because customer jobs come first...Bummmer!
I will post some pics shortly
Regards
Revel

Welcome to the Forum :applause:
We will watch for your photos and maybe a thread in the build journal section.
Always nice to follow the work of a fellow steel fabricator.

Hi Revel,
Welcome to the group...
:shake hands:
What city are you in/near; I visited SA a number of times teaching Aircraft Engine Maintenance in Lanseria and Jo-Burg ... If teaching in Lanseria, I always stayed at the Shonilanga Lodge (a small 7 room Bed & Breakfast) ... loved the people there ... and of course you can't visit SA without taking in Pilanesberg game park. I took a ton of pics there and at a number of other parks within a day drive of the lodge, but never made it to Kruger

Where do you camp out in S.A.? Please keep us up to speed on your build, I find your build ideas interesting and looking forward to pics...
