Today A/K's superintendent recommended that we reserve the above dates instead of the last full weekend in April as this should allow the park to have the heated bathrooms ready for us .

The shelter has already been rented so it's time to pick your sites for Cooler #10. April is just around the corner.

As in past years we will have Cooks Night Out (Thursday) (Looking for Restaurant ideas) Meet and Greet (Friday) Breakfast and Supper (Saturday - bring a dish to pass for only one of the meals)

We went to the 8th Street Ale Haus last year - I don't remember if we ate a proper meal or just appetizers with our beers.... Anyway, it was a nice-looking place but maybe not the best neighborhood?

Bob and I, and the border collies, Belle and Watson have site 88 reserved for Friday and Saturday. CNTL makes a great camping season opener. Since this year's event, we've been out 10 times for two nights each. Besides staying at Koehler, and our usual haunts of Governor Dodge, Perrot and Wyalusing State Parks, we've added Copper Falls,
Big Bay and Amnicon Falls to the state parks we've stayed at (and enjoyed!). Attended the TCTeardrop and CampInn gatherings. We were going to make another trip to Wyalusing next Tuesday, and make it the season closer, but the weather forecast is dreary and rainy so I guess the season has ended.

I noticed that 9 of our usual sites are now occupied. Hope the others are tearjerkers.

Could be that we are now competing with another group for sites. Since we are a week later then we usually go we could have some competition. It would be prudent if others are planning on coming to reserve sooner then later.

Mike and Michelle have reserved site 9 for Thurs-Sun. We just got back from a week-long tour of Iowa (Ok 2 days also in Galena). We hope to get out a few more times before the snow flies - and might even do some winter camping again this year. Always look forward to Cooler at the start of the season!

Before booking the weekend we have for this year's COOLER I looked on the park's camping map and only site 31 had been reserved. We now know that all the sites (but 31) currently registered are all part of our group. Nine trailers and counting. We own the loop so far.
