Ok... I build boats... I build campers... I think this one is a complete no-brainer. What do you think?!

That is cool but you wouldnt want it to get rough.
Dosnt have an enormous amou t of freeboard or draft and that top would act like a sail.
Be great for duck shooting

Yeah I don't think it's suited for big water for sure... Basically a tiny houseboat. For small lakes and ponds. Needs an electric motor.

Yeah, but 3500 hp electric motors are pretty heavy for a boat that small.

... and the batteries are even heavier. :R

You wouldn't believe the batteries we use in the boats KC... We run 3 in each boat. Lithium Aircraft, 24V, 100lbs, $3500 ea.

I think if you built a boat/camper it would be incredible! Blow this away.

Course it would take a lot of design planning to be useful. Maybe an amphibious teardrop.

Guess you have to decide whether you want a Galley or a boat motor.
Nuts and twigs it will be, as there is no place to cook that fish.

Mid-Weekend Update...

Postby Atomic77 » Sun Nov 01, 2015 12:20 pm

Well, the daunting task of sanding all of the carbon fiber on the seams of the Astroliner is complete. I had just a few spots that broke through because of air bubbles, but that is par for the course when not using a vacuum bag. I'm very pleased with the way the corners came out. They are very square and very strong. Getting ready to start with the filler, which won't take much thankfully. Hopefully you can see what's going on in the pictures. Hard to capture the corner in a picture, but they did turn out very
well.

Nice results, Michael, how many layers of carbon did you put, two? BTW, I also put some carbon on my trailer weather striping surfaces. I find that CF is so much stiffer than FG.

Yes, two. Three in a few places where I broke through. I saw you used some glass... Innovative!

Michael, really turned out well & the corners look nice & crisp. Some fairing & you're ready for paint. Have you decided on a paint scheme yet?
