How many teardrops on Harbor Freight trailers?

I was at Harbor Freight today and the Manager took pictures of my TD showing how we use the trailer to support our Teardrops and tiny trailers. When he had the last meeting with the district manager he told him about someone he knew was building a trailer, teardrop on the trailer and he told him to get pictures and asked how many people have used the trailer in this way. Chris, the manager,of the store asked me. I told him I had no idea, If anyone who has been on here a long time could help out estimating I promised him I'd call and give him the approximate number by Monday.
I quickly gave him information on the forum and the types of teardrops being built and showed him some of the pictures in the gallery. I mentioned the seals and bearings and how we need them in the store. I gave him my flyer that has the forum information.

Even though I used a Red Trailer brand I would like HF to carry the bearings and seals also.

Two TD, I built is on HF super heavy duty trailers. A 4 wide and a 5 wide. The 5 wide having fender wells. But if I were to do it again I would do the 5' angle iron under the frame and splice the axle thing. The round axle would be fairly easy.
Have about 10000 miles on the 4 wide and 6000 on the 5 wide with no problems at all with the trailers. For the money they are good trailers. Plus they are fairly light weight.
LED lights and a center tongue jack plate would be nice. But I just put in LED bulbs. HF should start stocking the led light bulbs for trailer use.
A lot of HF tool are also use to build TD,s
HF power tool are good for the build. In the they are low cost for the possible one time use.

It seems to me this is a dead setup for a random sampling estimate. This means you RANDOMLY select (say N=40) builds (as opposed to builders) and determine which have used a HF frame. Say you find K=16 used an HF frame. Then the estimate of the total number using HF frames is ( 16 M / 40) where M is the total number of builds.

Since we probably don't know M, we do a similiar estimate. For example take another random sample of the subscribers to this forum and calculate the average number of builds per member in that sample (including a lot of zeros because a lot of subscribers never built anything). Then multiply that average by the number of TnTTT subscribers. You would then have to apply a correction for builders who are not members of the forum or qualify your result as the number of frames used by TnTTT subscribers.

All this may appear complex, it is not, but it is a lot of work that requires a lot of attention to detail. It also should have an error analysis which is not so simple.

My camper is built on a light Northern Tool trailer that I bought used. I used this as a utility and motorcycle trailer for about 12 years before I built my camper. The next camper will be on a Harbor Freight trailer.

I have built seven on the 1720 one. Just remember to clean and pack those bearings!

Are those rims or wheel covers? Where did you get them?

Hi Folks, Count us in the count. We built ours on the 4X8 HF and it has been Great and like other folks we have around 12000 miles on ours. I did have to change the wheel bearings on our trip to Yuma in February. Now I carry bearings with me.

Bearings and seal availability for the HD trailer would be great.
