So from my build, the floor felt like it took FOREVER

I did mine a bit different 5x8 built on the NT frame, 2x2 framing (cut down 2x4s) then CDX plywood ontop of the frame, asphalt paint and insulation. I got more than a little frustrated on how long it took to only get a flat floor.

The weather and space fought me, but I went from april 2nd to May 21st without ever getting anything vertical on my build!

9 days later and I had profiles cut and walls up. A month later and I had a skinned teardrop.

Keep up the good work and dont get discouraged
My build, 5x8 modified benroy "Smiles to go". Started April 2nd 2015, first trip August 2nd 2015.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am not expecting to really start using it until spring so I have plenty of time. It is however good to have forward progress and I really look forward to seeing standing walls.

Nice progress on your build, mclanem.

We spent part of last year in A2 and really enjoyed it. Loved Zingerman's, Roos Roast Coffee, and Fingerle Lumber... Wish I could transplant that lumber company over to where I live now. They were super helpful when I was choosing materials for a couple of smaller projects last fall: a quilting frame for my wife, and a tool drawer for my Jeep's trunk. Fingerle had high quality wood. I would much rather give them my money for teardrop lumber than the big box store, but that's what I have here. For your TD, the ReUse Center on Industrial might be a good place to find unique recycled wood to build your interior when you get to that point.

I love Ann Arbor too!

I love the reuse center. We also have a Habitat for humanity restore in town which I plan to get supplies from for not just this project but the cabin my Mom is building too.

Come back anytime, but don't take my lumberyard with you.

It has been a busy fall with work, and family, and Boy Scouts, etc. It has taken me way too long to finish the floor.

I cut out and layed down the floor.

I then flipped it over and gave the bottom three very heavy coats of barn paint. The first was red, then white (I had some leftover), and then finished with more red. It worked well because you could see if you missed any spots.

I then flipped it back over and attached the floor to the trailer with lag screws.

Now with the floor finally done, I get to start on the walls. This is when it starts to get real. I have to return to the lumber yard to get more materials. Should be exciting.
