New and just getting started

Postby OLDMERC » Mon Nov 16, 2015 9:08 pm

Hi from Edmonton Alberta , My kids asked me to build them a teardrop to share a couple of years ago . I told them that if they were still interested when I got done the restoration of our 1949 Mercury pickup then I would . Well they are so I started on it a while ago . First thing was the purchase of a 1970 tent trailer $50.00 3 new tires and rims (12" instead of the 8" that were on it ) $127.00 , serial number from the Insurance Bureau of Canada $105.00 and I'm started on a Benroy 4' x 8' .

Thanks!
We have enjoyed "Miss Piggy" for the past three seasons, and she does attract a lot of attention.
But, I love to build....a second TD is currently under construction..Kermit.
Might inspire me to finish my Henry j as a TV.
Love to see pictures of your Merc. PU.

PS we are planning a Fall Crawl for eastern B.C. next September......hope your TD will be ready to roll.

I was going to build a 4x8 and after I mocked it up and wife and I laid down, it was obvious it was really too small. Unless it's just you in it, try to make it wider, I'm going for 56", wide enough for a full mattress.

Thanks for your thoughts but I have most of the material for this one , it does look small so I'll build it and let the kids try it out .
If it's to small then I will sell It and build a larger unit .
