If you have a problem with the prices charged by the manufacturers, have a look at what is happening down here

And how are they selling. Not knowing what other caravans are going for, that seems a bit over much even figuring in the dollar difference.

Wow!...

A buddy and I just had this conversation taking a truck frame to the sand blaster. We get a lot of Aussie's and Kewi's over at our big auto swap meets buying cars to ship home and were talking about ordering old reproduction parts for restorations here in the U.S. vs you guy's down under....Huge cost factor difference not only with the currency conversion since most are based in the U.S. but the import tax/tariff I have heard is outlandish ... and I see Teardrops/Campers are no different.
I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction, the world will have a generation of idiot's.

I would consider that a bit of an exaggeration, Dale. I spent $30k on a fully decked, hard floor camper which makes those teardrops a tad on the expensive side, to me anyways.

When you consider that they start at about $36500

It makes those teardrops dear.

I've been concerned with spending a bit more than I had planned on my build, but I'm feeling much better about it now! With prices like that, I'm amazed anyone can go camping once they buy the trailer. It looks like they would need to work 2 jobs, just to pay for it, then have no time left to relax....

The time you spend planning is more important than the time you spend building.........

When I started planning our tear I priced it around $4-6k but saw this one at $5k so went that route. Its glass, insulated and just what we wanted. Of course now I'm doing some personalising but hey its what I do :D Having done several trips now its the little things I'm adding that make it fun. Love that I can hook up anytime (both retired) and just head into the Flinders Ranges or the Murray River for some away time without a lot of preparation. Just finished making a 10 gallon galvanised water tank that fits inside the kitchen area to save carrying water bottles as its pretty dry in the northern Flinders.
Rambling again ...sorry
