I like it. I find 3 things worth noting: It looks to me that

1- If you skin the outside of the door frame, notice that the outside surface is on the outside in both the opened and closed positions. With a regular hinged door the outside surface when closed ends up facing the building when opened.

2- It appears the (single) door must be twice as tall as it is wide. So if you have a pair of doors (it appears there is a matching door that opens in the opposite direction), then the overall door opening is a square. Further, the top and bottom sections of a single door must be squares and the triangular sections of them are equilateral (45-45-90 degrees). That should make them relatively easy and economical to construct.

3- The connections between the door and the building is only at two points (top & bottom) and it looks to me that they pivot only in the vertical plane. Again, a perhaps unexpected simplicity.

I just don't have the computer skills to share some of the cool stuff I come across Sandi actually found this).
Anyway it is far to cool and could work for many applications. But I thought the coolest part, was that it would clear things top and bottom that might otherwise be in the way.
ie. a light fixture in front of the door or a uphill grade that might be in front of the door.
This would allow you to have a cupboard door that could swing open over a counter top with an object on it????
