Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Okay.. some updates.. since I've been able to still work at 40-50' F..

Paneling in on the drivers side (was insulated in earlier post..).. toilet installed.

The square toward the right on the paneling is the water access point for the tub/shower water connections..

Image

Plumbing drain lines (1 1/2" ID) under installed and tied to blackwater tank.. (the ABS type cement is nasty btw..)

The Hepvo 'trap' is under the kitchen sink.. though I may add another under the trailer for the tub to get rid of the low hanging P-trap..

Image

Ran the under counter waters lines more straight with pex 'clamp' system and some sharkbite 'sink kit' fittings to make my life smoother..

Here is the other 2 walls up.. and I added another 12v light in the corner..

Image

And here is the FRP panel up around the tub.. I used the FRP adhesive glue as well.. :D

Cutting the FRP wasn't bad.. I used my jig saw real slow with a 21 tpi metal blade.. and did it outside with no wind..

I'm really impressed you've been able to find space for toilet, shower, AND galley! Not easy to do in a 6x12. Well done.

What kind of shower tub is that? I've been looking but I have not been able to find one like that.

Cheers,

Its a Lyons 24x32 with RH center drain part# DT0132R12 for $132 and free shipping from Amzn... has about an 12" height on it.. better to keep the water in with the shower curtain.. then a standard shower pan.. IMO.

First one UPS killed.. :x the second was was fine.. :D

Sweet. FRP shower and real toilet in the small space. I'm impressed. Can't wait to see this one all finished!

Thanks. I left 81" from back edge of inside decking to other side of bath wall. Technically I can fit a queen bed.. I am opting I think for a full size futon though. Double duty as couch and bed..

The toilet is the Dometic 310.. porcelin model..

Stay tuned..

Today I did the water 'inlets'..

Image

Then the interior plumbing aspect.. everything is labeled and if possible attached to the wall for some support.

I did a slip-fit on the Hepvo in case I need to remove it..

Image

Some Ipswitch Pine stain and satin clear on the countertop.. Sink installed all the way (and sealed under edge).. and my Duel Fuel stove unit (which has a case for transport) is propane or butane capable.. I plan on getting the 10' propane adaptor to run to the front 20# tank.. I did get a 4 pack of butane canisters when I ordered it.. 8)

The counter TOP is 39" from the floor.. I want room to get under it if need be.. the MOEN sink has a approx 5" deep bowl and is 10x12 (15x15 overall).

Image

I did the tub 'skirt' today.. that wasn't too bad..

I tested the drain system from the sink and tub/shower.. no leaks underneath.. :applause:

I finished the passenger side insulation as well.. just waiting on a 12x24 vertical window from Vintek.. for that side above the well well area..

Thanks.. lol

I did some FRP panel on the counter backsplash.. I used the proper FRP adhesive as well..

Image

I did another sheet of paneling by the side 'entrance' door.. If you didn't know on this trailer by the door is a 3" wide frame going up.. had to trim the 1" nails to 1/2" as not to hit the steel.. I also used the panel adhesive as your supposed to so no worries..

Image

Some 1" insulation with foil and clear for the roof.. thats AC ducting tape.. I am still unsure of the ceiling material options?? suggestions??

Image

I also installed the CAMCO RV winterizg kit with the bypass valve.. figured what the heck..

Image

I used a Stanley slide latch for the temporary interior only door latch.. I get a 1" throw onto the side wall which has a 3" steel upright for a door frame..

This will be used when I am in the trailer sleeping only.. I intend on using the big outside latch with lock if I wander more than 10' from the trailer..

I found out this WellsCargo side door is totally hollow btw.. nothing in it (not even foam).. (sucks).. I reinforced both sides of the bolts with 1" fender washers..

And yes I missed the measurement on the notch in the panel height when doing the panel..

Image

Waiting on the window, so I can finish the wall work.. then I can focus on 'trimming'..

ywhic, Howdy;

Looks really nice with the "Knotty Pine" lookin' interior.
Quick question, do you have a way to secure the cam latch handle in the open position,
so someone doesn't "Latch you IN" ??? Something that's been mentioned on here before.

Lowes was out of cheap $9 sheet paneling.. I opted for the 3/16 (1/4") stuff at $20/sht.. pretty stiff stuff.. I was looking for a 'knotty pine'.. they had this..

I'm going to buy another 'latch' to lock it open I think.. I need to check the OPEN to see how flat it lays...

Did I mention the HF driveway wireless alarms are great deterrent at night (that and a 12ga).. lol..

You mount them 18" off the ground on a survey stake, and paint them to blend in.. it works well..

My old 'offgrid' place in SW Texas.. had to have all types of hidden stuff to keep me semi-secure..

This is the idea I used, "borrowed" from some others on here a few years back. So far-so good. Eye bolt and a pad lock. Locks it open, and locks it closed.
