Good Morning Folks,

Thanks for letting me join the group. Now that I am retired I am going to build a camping trailer that will be pulled behind my motorcycle. The first idea was a mini teardrop however I don't think that will work for me so I am going to build a fold out tent trailer similar to the Open Road Mini Mate. I have Timbren axle less suspension and plan on building the body from 1/8" 3003 aluminum. The frame will also be aluminum structural tubing. I will post pictures as I go along. Target completion date will be 06/01/15. So wish me luck

Welcome to the Forum.
There is some great information here!
And if you can find it, there is a Motorcycle trailer called the "Spud" designed and built by a fellow in Idaho.
I believe he sold the rights to the design to an Oregon trailer manufacture for mass production.
And not to give you any bad thoughts of those of us here on the Forum, but you might want to rethink your completion date ...or you will be working I reverse time????

Ok here are some pictures

First are the Timbren hubs and 4 on 4 wheels and tires. Then the start of the frame rails Note I made sleeves and tig welded then in so the tube wouldn't crush. You see the progression however I am going to shorten up the drop at the rear by 4 inches. Will post that pic as soon as its done.

Ok last one for the night. Here it is on its feet. A lot of work and design left but I am a design as I build kinda guy.

Typing might not be your strong suit, but fabrication IS!!
