Tropical Depression #1

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

The stuff we grew when I lived in Maryland was Fescue. Here, I planted Argentine Bahia from seed, which looks pretty good if it is thick. But, I can't seem to get mine to grow uniformly thick or keep the weeds out. I guess I'm too lazy to take care of it properly. So, I'm trying to get St. Augustine started. I sprigged some in back last Fall and it's spreading fast, so I sprigged more last week and hoping it gets going. It will choke out the other grasses and weeds if I can keep it healthy.

Great timing -- My wife is going to Charleston,SC (with the girls) for the week and I'm flying (through Atlanta) to Miami on business.

This could be a wash out for both of us. It will be good to get back to Indiana where we only have tornadoes and severe T-storms.

If it makes 'cane status, it'll be a little 'un. At least, we're gettin' some rain out of it. That'll reduce the fire dangers in the state and help my grass grow. I'm not sure what costs the most...watering the lawn or gas for the mower...ya just cain't win, can ya?

Steve,

I was just watching the weather report and they say landfall will be at Clearwater.............and it looks as if you'll be right in the path as it goes north. Keep that beautiful teardrop tied down, will ya?
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

It's raining like crazy here in Augusta Georgia right now.

This has nothing to do with the tropical depression but it sure is nice to hear it outside. Temps dropped about 15 degrees since it started.
