Almost Complete

Postby Squareback » Thu Dec 24, 2015 11:45 am

Researched "Teardrops" and "Tiny Campers" for close to a year before I started to finally design and build my own. I am a cabinetmaker by trade and have a CNC so once the design was done it was pretty easy to cutout all parts. In my research I found very little hardware made for 3/4" construction and pretty much everything constructed was engineered using off the shelf hardware and components that was modified to work with what I had in mind. Security was the driving motivation as well as ease of transport and setup as I like to photograph and travel around quite a bit instead of staying in one place. I also like to walk away from my campsite and explore photographic opportunities so it was paramount the camper had to be as secure as possible. During my research it really hit me how little is out there for the DIY crowd for building tiny campers. My goal now is to transform my cabinet shop into a camper kit shop. This little Squareback is almost complete and I hope to have it on the road in a couple weeks. It has 200 watts of solar power and was designed to go off grid and be self sufficient. It also has a couple 120v outlets and a hookup for shore power but the main power is from 2 6v golf cart batteries wired in a series. All lighting is 12v LED, water pump is 12v and there are 2 12v outlets, one in the cabin and one in the kitchen. I welcome all comments, both praise and constructive criticism. I am not the brightest light in the shed by no means but all of us together make a pretty bright bunch. :D
