I've never bought the Kreg screws, seemed too expensive.
I get my pocket screws locally from a cabinet wholesaler.
For around $20 you can get 1,000 pocket screws from Quickscrew.
Their the same screws I use and they work great.

I now order my screws from eBay and Amazon at much lower prices then Kreg.

I got the Junior and it worked great for me. Still use it quite often.

I'm seriously looking at the harbor freight one, and if I end up doing more projects for the wifey, I may get it.

For teardrop building though I'd suggest the junior. You're going to buy so many other things along the way (at least if you have the tools I did you will) that you don't want to spend the extra on the kregg jig if you don't need it.
My build, 5x8 modified benroy "Smiles to go". Started April 2nd 2015, first trip August 2nd 2015.

I just got the kreg R3, have not opened it yet. After seeing it used in the "Scotts workshop" videos I was sold.

U can use either one I have both I used to build cabinets for houseing the bench mounted is faster but they both give the same outcome but I do suggest getting both sets of Craig vice grips to hold the portable jig in place and the work pieces together for screwing

I agree about the clamps whether they are Kreg's or knockoffs. They hold pieces together very well for joining. And I too have both drill guides. I find for mass production (as mass as it can get in trailer construction) the bench model saves a lot of time. It may just be me and my financial outlook towards tools and such, but I equate the dollar differences to mights out on the town. "How many dinners out do I skip to support the extra cost?" I realize it can be false justification (rationalization), but I tend to do it anyway. Also in my case, I am spending the kids inheritance (yeah I know, it is a worn out cliche).
