I didn't know that!
Thanks......but you are making me feel older by the minute. :R
But, I am enjoying the day off, except for the 3 hours of plowing snow in the driveway.

From the Facebook page...

Here is father and son. The kid has most of his dad's car creations and art work that he had been locating and collecting for years. One car being the "Wishbone" that his father hated so much he sawed it in half. 'Lil Daddy located both pieces and restored it, making Big Daddy Ed so angry he refused to speak to his son for two years. He eventually got over it and actually helped his son to collect some of his works prior to his death.

Actually I think 'Lil Daddy is alright. His two other brothers and their mother tried to sue Big Daddy Ed for rights to his stuff before he died. They lost. With Big Daddy Ed's blessing, 'Lil Daddy has collected a lot of his dad's custom cars and memorabilia. He's put them in a museum that is non-profit for others to enjoy. He's making his own way with his flakes, pearls and pinstriping paints. He's been very innovative with a two-part catalyzed epoxy clear in a rattle can. He's done a lot to keep his father's legacy alive.

Michael
Do you know where the Museum is? I would love to stop in and see some of his creations in person, if we are going by.

I don't. I was reading about it online but the article didn't give the location. I know it's in CA but that's about it.
I remember my first Rat Fink sticker I got as a kid... I stuck it on my little toy tool box. All that stuff has always been cool to me.

Hey, if so many people that have been influenced by the man can follow in his footsteps and make a living trying to live up to his creativity, why should we begrudge his son for following in "the family business". I'm sure he is just doing what he knows and being who he is because that is how he came up; probably in his blood. You can't hold that against him!

Making some progress on the interior panels today. I sprayed each one with two heavy coats of 2k Urethane after filling as many imperfections as possible with 3M Platinum filler. The grain swelled and things got ugly for a bit but after it kicked I hit it with guide coat and sanded everything with 220 on a DA. After that, things calmed down and turned out pretty nice. The 2k Urethane really filled the grain and the pores well.

Per Brian's suggestion, I followed up with an Epoxy Primer. Everything was cool this time around with no swelling of the grain. I used black only because I happened to have some left over from something else. A quick pass with 400 on the DA and they're ready.

The two triangle pieces that fit in the stateroom are the only pieces that will be the Raspberry color. I laid down some Roth Rattsberry Flake mixed with clear binder then several coats of Imron Elite polyurethane clear .

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some of the TropiCali Tangerine flake laid out on a few of the other pieces.
