No, I don't know, at least not for sure - but from the pics I've seen I'd say the inner skin was more like 1/4" or even 3/16", then 1x framing, then the aluminum outer skin. You should be able to get a definitive answer from one of the vintage trailer sites.

The Glen-L Sequoia construction seems to be a decent demonstration of 'traditional' trailer building:

The sides were built from 1/2" plywood and 1"x2" firing strips on the inside for wire and insulation installed. Then 1/8" interior skins were applied to finish it off from what I have seen. Seems pretty straight foward on the style of building of plywood box costruction techniques. Very similiar to building a teardop this way

Does anyone know if this profile information is still available? I'm getting the fever to build a small standy. :worship:

Thanks,
Steve

I'd really like to have it too, if it's still wandering around out there.

OK, due to popular demand, etc, etc......

Here are the two files I've got on this profile. The first contains the side view photo mentioned above and also my 'tracing' over that photo. The second contains the profile information.

And no asking tricky questions - I did this eight years ago and all details have been lost in the mists of time.
