Trailer level

Is the angle at which my trailer sitting ok? Or do I need to find a way to lower the hitch?

If you ever want to tow anything of more weight you will want to put on a receiver hitch. Most bumpers are not very strong. With a receiver hitch you can do a drop hitch. If you never plan to tow anything of any weight you can use a bolt on receiver tube.

+1 on what KennethW said. With a frame mounted hitch, you can buy a receiver with different drop lengths to match your level trailer height.

Yes, You can but you will have to unhook to sleep and use the galley. With the hitch that high you might change the weight on the tongue that could led to a trailer that sways. :(
You can try it if it does not work we gave you a way to make it work good luck with your build.

right click on image, save to your pic file, and then rotate it
then you'll see that it's not level

I put one of the Curt receiver hitches on the Toyota that I used to have. It was very easy and worked great. I was able to put the drop hitch in and have the camper run level. They also have a light kit that snaps in between the taillight connections that is very easy to install. I highly recommend that you go that route. It was only around $200 and will be much safer. When you turn using the bumper hitch like that you will put the trailer tongue in a bind and at the very least dent the bumper. Worst case you could break the tongue. Plus, with it riding level you won't have to unhitch the trailer to use it as stated above.
