Rain tested

Postby rooster » Mon Jun 12, 2006 7:19 pm

The rains came and it came in buckets. . . . I forgot to cover the tear and I'm glad I didn't. The doors passed the rain test but the hatch failed at the hurricane hinge on the roof side. I didn't screw down three screws all the way down and when I opened the hatch, wala, water on the counter. Now I'll wait until tomarrow and see if the leak is gone.

Jim,

Northeast about 40 miles and just north of Fairbanks. The smoke carries on the Southwest breeze across the Tanana Flats or up the Minto Flats. Unfortunatley, you may be right, Dave. Millions of acres burning in the summer, but with record cold winter's. Gotta tell us something!
Can you get up this way for an impromptu Alaska Honeymoon/Teardrop Gathering/Ester Gold Camp Dinner/Malumute Saloon Show/Chena Hot Springs, ect. with Jim & his new bride around the Solstice?

You won't know for certain about your doors until you tow it in the rain. Everything in mine stays bone dry when it's standing still, but tow it in the rain and the doors leak. From what I gather, this is a fairly common problem. If I encounter rain on my upcoming trip, I'm just gonna duct tape the doors shut!

Where would we be without duct tape?
