Hello from KS

Postby toygoose » Sat Jan 02, 2016 10:07 am

Hello all, thanks for the add to your great site here!

I've been lurking for a few weeks now in my preparation of buying a TD, I've finally found a builder that will use my design and ideas to build what I'm looking for, using his expertise and craftsmanship. In my quest for the perfect TD, I believe I've looked at 100s of ideas, designs, manufactures, forums, and for sale ads to compile just the right combination for me. Can't wait to receive the finished product in about 2 months!

Back story for me is this, I love to camp and explore, get off the beaten path, hunt, fish, and just get away. I've went from ground camping and/or hammocks, to a roof top tent (RTT), to my setup now, an adventure style trailer w/ RTT. After the past 2 years of this trailer, I'm looking forward to the ease of setup and tear down of the TD.

I'll be sure to post up more info, pics, and details as the build progresses.

Thanks,
toygoose

Cute trailer ............but, oh are you going to love the hard shell of a teardrop and the ease of set up???
You look to be camping a little close to town??? The teardrop will allow you to venture a little further out! ;)
Sorry, just couldn't resist  Thanks for posting the pictures...we all love pictures here on the Forum.

Welcome toygoose... :shake hands:

Nice looking bug-out rig and I have to agree with Brian & Sandi; I believe that you will enjoy a hard side trailer. It is just plain uncomfortable to drive for hours and get to your camping spot and have to set up camp in the rain!!!
:rainy:

I went with a Cargo Conversion for just that reason... After the CC was built, we spent more time in the hills metal detecting and got caught in more rainy trips... my personal choice in a stand-up with inside galley, allowed us to get dry, hang wet clothes to dry, stay warm & dry, make coffee, and wait for the rain to let up so we could go at it again... I believe that a trailer is one's personal choice and no one trailer fits everyone's needs and wants... This one fits some of my needs and the bigger trailer fits other needs...
  :D

Good luck with your build and be sure to post pics and info...
