Start of my Build Journal

Postby GerryAttrick » Tue Jan 19, 2016 3:09 pm

Time to put a place marker in for my proposed build so that I can stop hogging my Newbie posts

It will be a while before much happens here as I am still gathering ideas and making contact with locals to get advice from those who have trod this path already (Sheddie, Ned, etc)

At this stage my idea is for something along the Grumman2 lines and I have also followed Sheddies build in "Sleepin Around New Zealand". He has already offered to let me look over his unit and I am going to have to sort out a time soon to escape from house maintenance for some Teardrop R & R. Ned likewise and he is a bit closer to where I live so things are progressing.

Pretty well firmed up on the basics for my trailer and I hope to start that in the next month or so as it should come in handy to use as a general purpose trailer while I firm up on some other design ideas. Trailer will be 2.5 by 1.5 ( I know its not an economic size to get out of uncut sheets) as I'd like to make sure the cabin is not too small or my wife will feel claustrophobic. Might be open to some changes here.

I learned that the build journals, both your own and all of the fine folks that have come before, is priceless. I've been able to go back through mine several times and see things I did that I couldn't remember if I did it or not.

Good luck on the build and remember, enjoy what you are doing, it isn't a race.
