Yes yes it is. That is NOT the standard for the state, they are selling at over $1 less than average on the gallon

Its a local gas war between a few stations going on, making news

We could drop the price another 50 cents is so if we got rid of the EPA and their multiple blends of gas mandates. Of course that would only happen in a rational country, one that would dump the other big waste expense, ethanol from corn

Having lived there for 27 years before moving to MI I can empathize Graniterich. I remember seeing low gas prices on the news but our prices were always higher. I missed out on Alaska Teardrop's great gas price by buying the day before at $1.43 a gallon. Not complaining though ;)

+/- $.20 a gallon depending on your location here, it's around $2.10 per gallon here where I am at in the Pacific NW - but drive 20 miles any direction and it will be $1.90 to $2.30 per gallon. Also depends on the brand - one side of the street $2.10 at the ARCO and across the street at the Shell $2.30 here in Stanwood, Wash. Seattle Arco's $2.30 per gallon, drive 20 miles north from here to Mt.Vernon and Arco is $1.90 per ( and yes. I get there, see the $$ and my tank is already full !! oh well)

I live in a part of California that has some of the highest gas prices in the country. The best price here today is $2.59 for regular at Costco. $3.19 at a Chevron is the highest price for regular in town. In nearby Cambria, CA it's $3.59/gal.

I remember driving through Los Angeles, CA as a kid in the early 1960's to visit my grand parents. The typical grey smog there was heavy, awful. You couldn't see far. Back then it was rare to see the mountains around LA. LA's smog made my throat sting and made me cough. Fortunately I didn't get asthma because I lived in San Diego where the air was less polluted. California's population has soared since then and air pollution is much more under control, which I strongly favor.

Now would be a good time to raise gas taxes to improve our roads, improve public transportation, and to help hasten the transition to a clean energy future.

I would be concerned that raising the tax would be used for other crap like a bullet train to Modesto!
