Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for quite some time getting ideas for a CT conversion. This site is incredible as a resource.
Background. Live in Utah. Got a job in Lewiston, Idaho. Will be moving the middle of March. Purchasing an all aluminum 7x16 x 7' high CT to move all valuable and items I don't want the movers to destroy. Then will be converting to a camper after arrival. The wife was concerned about moving some of her valuables. My ingenious solution... let's get a CT so we can move some of our things, and then I can convert it into a camper for us to enjoy. Love the two birds with one stone idea. She bought into it... hook, line, and sinker. Conclusion; her valuables are protected during the move, (mine too; golf clubs, guns, fishing poles, table saw, chop saw, etc...things that you don't want a moving company touching or moving), and I get a nice CT for a sweet camper conversion. I'm paying the extra $$ for the all aluminum for the longevity of anti-corrosion, and they are a tad bit lighter. I have a buddy who bought an all aluminum snowmobile trailer. He swears by it. Years later when you look underneath, it looks brand new. The dealer states dry weight to be around 1700 lbs. I'll be purchasing a Polaris Ranger side by side after arrival, so I needed the extra length and extra height. I have calculated the dimensions and the 7x16x7' height should be just right. My plans are to insulate, awning, some lights, and then start camping. We can figure out things as we go. There are sooo many great ideas on this site. The possibilities are endless. I'm hoping to keep things simple. The wife's only requirements are a small shower to clean up, a port-a-poti for business, and a small sink. I'll post some pics after the purchase and will show my build along the way. Thanks everyone for all the great ideas and resources.
