"Cars" Review

We're hoping for Xmas time period for the DVD release.

Well we didn't make the movie last night.

The 4 year old poked his 2 year old sister with a stick, so he lost his movie.

We will try again tonight!

Pixar is now actually a part of Disney, whereas before, they were a separate company, but worked exclusively for Disney. (More or less the explanation; I'm sure others can better explain it.)

Anyway, Disney was in the toilet not too long ago, literally heading to total collapse. And before they brought Eisner in, NONE of their stuff was ever released on video, because it was felt on the board that this cheapened the brand, and would negatively impact on attendance when they did their rereleases in the theater.

Well, Roy Disney, who everyone thought was an idiot, brought Eisner in, and Eisner basically said to the board, "Are you guys retarded? Do you know how much money is to be made by selling videotapes of our library?"

He finally won the argument, and Disney was back to MAJOR profitability, well offsetting any losses at the parks. They were doing SO well that they were even eventually able to buy ABC.

One guy made this huge difference.

I gotta give you credit. I'm so spoiled that I would have let the discipline slide for selfish reasons.

It is hard sometimes! I really want to see the movie.

I have a story about the time we went to the zoo and they were getting out of hand in the ticket line and not listening.

All mom heard when she got home is, "We went to the zoo and almost seen some animals."

Let me give you kudos

I have two boys, age 7 and 8. I can tell you, I dont get no easier. I am always gratified when I see other parents stand by their guns and enforce punishment like that. You da' Dad!

I have to go home now and take both of my boys next door to apologize for jumping from our tree to her forsithia bush and doing lots of damage. This is after they had done it once and been forgiven and warned never to do it again ( the day before). I caught them in the bush last night when I got home.

I told them that they are just volunteered to help our neighbor take care of her back yard for the rest of the summer. That was unpopular, and will be inconvienent for the whole family, but it is what they owe her for what they did.

And remember, one day, they will love us for this.

It's amazing how luck can come into this:

Believe me, I ain't no model parent, but both of my kids are incredibly well-behaved and considerate of other people's property and situation.

Again, I really don't think this has anything to do with me or my wife--this is just how they've always been, even from when they were VERY young.

Hey wait--come to think of it, these kids behave a lot like our MAILMAN!

The good part about that is it sticks in their head better. Now all I have to say when they are not listening is, "Remember what happened at the zoo?" I am sure the 2 year old isn't getting it as much as the 4 year old ring leader. I figure if I give them a second chance it won't be as effective later, mainly the 4 year old, the 2 year old still gets a little wiggle room.

We did go to the zoo the next day and they were perfect angels.(well no one got hurt anyway)

The 4 year old is helpful around the house today knowing he has another chance at the movie tonight. So if all goes well Mom gets home around 5:30 and then it is dinner at Hooter's and then the movie!

I remember getting the belt and placing it in my father's hand.....Mom had a wooden spoon but by the end of its life was more of a finger....

I've got 2 kids and have not physically-harmed with discipline. At times it was real hard. Taking them to a timeout, sitting with them during that time, talking about wrong/right, I think has done a lot. Even now at 12 and 10, they 'teach' their buddies.

Well we made it to the movie! I will have to say that it has to be one of the better movies I have seen in a long time. Enough stuff for the kids and alot for the adults that goes over the kids heads.

I give it a big two !

We didn't go to Hooter's. We ended up at Red Robin. (fancier hamburger place)

Mmmmm Royal Red Robin. I thought it was strange to put a fred egg on a burger. I tried it and was pleasantly suprised. Gotta get the most fat and chloesterol as you can into one burger I guess.

I wasn't sure how much of a area Red Robin covered. It is new to me up here. I didn't get the Royal eventhough I did think about it. Trying to watch my gorilla-ish ...oops .... I mean girlish figure. I ended up with two chicken breasts and a salad.
