Corniest thing I have ever made:

Postby coquitlamglenn » Sat Feb 20, 2016 3:02 pm

While it may be the corniest thing I have ever made, I love it. It's not quite finished, it still needs doors and upholstery. Before you ask, it is not meant to actually be a trailer, it is just a dog crate for use indoors.

Not corny to me, looks like a very nice indoor home for the dog.
I'm assuming you laid up the fenders in a form and the walls & roof look like 1/4" bamboo.
I did a library a few years ago in 1/4" & 3/4" bamboo panels and the very fine splinters really can get under your skin.

Is it a practice model for the one you want to build or a copy of the one you have?
Are you a teardrop trailer camper in B.C.??? ;)

Very little is corny to a tnttter! If you can dream it, you can build it.

That's cute!

I don't know if corny fits this, but it sure was something of limited value. This was the mid 80's and at the time it was the worlds largest wooden rocking chair, just over 18 ft high.. We used it on the roof of our shop as advertising till a storm took it down. As goofy as it was I enjoyed making it.

Love the chair and the little cutie sitting in it! Remember Lily Tomlin as Edith Ann in "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In?" :)

Yes we all do.....but that just shows the average age of Forum participants and Teardrop Campers.

Thanks, I actually formed the body out of glue laminated plywood with a bamboo veneer in my vacuum press. Similar to the way I built my full sized teardrop - the shell itself provides all the structure: And yes, bamboo splinters are nasty for sure!!

Woodbutcher - wow, that is a rocker, very impressive! Why do we like changing the scale of our favorite things so much? Weird human quirk.

Danny, Heisley, thank's for the compliments! And yes, I think teardroppers just may be corny by nature.

Hi Glenn
3 years ago I started a B.C. Chapter of the Tear Jerkers (I am the Director) and we have 27 members to date.
Thru our Chapter we have hosted the Farm Gathering for the past two years and will be doing so again in 2016 along with the Fall Crawl in September.
We would love to include you on our Roster as a member, and have you join in our events.
If you are interested you can PM me with your information (either here or on the TJ Forum....I check both daily)
Always glad to find fellow Teardrop Campers in Canada!

I am going to copy this for my pup. It's PERFECT. Oh, and a full size one for me. This is my favorite profile.
