Sorry to hear about the tire. Its one of the reasons I bought mine from a dealer instead of driving 4 hours to Pearson or Douglasville and picking up at the factory. You and I have a similar build going on except mines a 7 X16. I've bought 15 4x8 sheets of 1/2" and I'm two sheets short, but I've also done the ceiling. I'm also doubling mine to give me one inch in the walls.

What part of Georgia are you from?, I'm in Columbus, 100 miles south of Hotlanta..

I live in Acworth. Great info on the insulation I am also thinking of doubling 1/2". The one nice thing was at the Factory the gentleman that help me has already converted his trailer and gave me some strong suggestion about weight distribution. He also tows his bikes in his trailer and describe his layout. I am going to ask for pics today . Great to see someone close is doing the same conversion.

I asked this in another forum but didn't get a reply so I'll try here. What is the benift of doubling 1/2" insulation vs just using 1" sheets? I've seen a lot of posts where doubling was the prefered method but no reason why. My local box store has both 1" and 1/2". Just curious as to the best method before I do mine.

Bought a Freedom Trailer from Willacoochee, Georgia. I posted pics from yesterday.
As far the doubling it think have read in several places it helps with slowing down heat transfer and better insulates. I need to find the forum that that is discussed for you. My reason is per the local big box they only carry 3/4 if I go in and look and 1" is available I will consider it. I am going to use spray foam to fill in the gaps. I found a roll of foam gasket about 4" wide I am going to use for each support to stop heat transfer to my wall and last but I sure not all cool seal my roof since I will be AC more than heating here in the south. I hopefully will be using a portable air conditioner I have 2 LGs reason it dehumidifies at the time of cooling the area down.Trying to find someone that repairs them I only need one. It seems like heating is not such a big problem as cooling so I am using a small heater for when we ride in the mountains. I start next weekend insulating the trailer. I am sure pics will follow.

LOVE THE TRAILER looks like you could drop the hitch about another 2'' to level out trailer better will be following this build for sure

For me it was a matter of what they had at the BBS when I got there. I used off cuts where possible to fill in small areas, taping seams with UL181 rated HVAC foil tape that I bought years back from my job.

Yea well lets see the fun starts next weekend hopefully it will come together. I order my doe window from ebay and it raining so no coolseal today so leys see what happens friday that when I hope i start sealing the roof and pulling panels.

I notice most trailers put their outlet on the front is that OK? I know the last time we camped out the shore power was located in the back of the parking space.

I've seen it normally rear left side. Normally a 25' cord will be plenty. But with s 50' power cord, hook up could be anyplace. In the parks/campgrounds I've been to the posts are in back of site.

I went with doubling up on 1/2" insulation. Question when we say LH (left hand) we are talking about drivers side right? I am getting ready to install my shore power plug in want to make sure i put it in the right spot

LH driver's side YES. It's sitting in the car, driver's seat, that we get it from. Not standing outside looking at it. It's funny that cops and mechanics occasionally mix this up.

From my experiences living in RV's I have found that in, general, the cable it routed from near where the
converter is located. On my present 5th wheel it is accessed from a port in the rear wall. On the TT I used
to live in it came out the L side wall about 1/2 way back from the front. What I have noticed is that the larger
cable (30a in both my instances), comes from the manufacturer in approx. 30' lengths, and are attached to the
Rv's converter directly. Then the wires (10 ga. or larger), are run to the battery(s), about 13 -15 feet in the
case of the TT and nearer to 25 feet with the 5th wheel. With the smaller sizes of our CTCs the wire runs
aren't so far as the one in my 5th wheel. You "could" poke your hole for it about anywhere you choose and still
be able to reach the outlet in almost any campground. There are exceptions, ... but they are rare.
