let me see your television mounts.

Postby Trevor57 » Thu Mar 03, 2016 4:15 pm

I have tries searching for pics of people mounting tvs in their trailers. Unfortunately tv is too short of a search term. I would like pics, or input about how you have your tvs mounted.

The posts on this subject that I recall seem to be very similar to Tom's. That is what I will consider for mine.

My only addition is that I'm considering changing how I use the TV. I'm either going to get rid of it all together, ( and just use an IPAd) ( we normally just watch TV when the weather is bad or for a few minutes before bed). Or change it so that I can set it outside and share with others. We often camp with other kids, so it might be nice to watch a movie together when the campfire isn't doing it.

Also, if you use a smaller TV, one of the swing up mounts could be nice.

We used a similar arm. Very nice with the swinging arm. I have a strap that secures it against the wall for travel. I used a small piece of carpet to cushion the edge that touches the wall when stored.

We simply lay the TV face down on the sleeping bag covered mattress while traveling, it stays put.

That's too simple Danny, we want a SOLUTION ;)

I think I have a pretty good idea what I will end up doing with my setup. Thank you for the good ideas, to those who offered something helpful.

I used a small fixed mount that I bought from monoprice.com. I have also purchased one from them for the house. They are great quality at around $30 or less. Check out their hdmi cables also. They are all I use for the camper and the house and they are less then $5 for 6 foot cables. Great stuff.

All that said, I have thought about taking the TV out of the camper (at least being permanently mounted to the wall) so we can have the space for more storage. I just don't use it enough when my wife and I both go camping and we could use the space.

I used on of these because it has dual locking pins. The list price is expensive but it goes on sale for a lot better price every now and then:

Do you need to adjust the TV or will it be OK to mount it so folks can watch it laying down?.. We went for a nice flat screen and mounted it on the shelf by our feet (Along side my Ham Radio gear) It has worked great for the past 2 years. If this works for you, all I did was bolt the base to the shelf. Make sure you have everything plugged in that needs to be before you bolt it down.
