Hey my pleasure. No doubt they will come up again.
Have a good trip to Sydney and enjoy the "7s".
We are off to Taranaki for the Ford Capri Club Summer Camp this weekend. We are taking the red 2.8 with the Teardrop in tow. Leaving here tomorrow (Thursday) lunchtime, as long as I don't get too held up with work.

Must be the same as diamond plate here? I can't get over how expensive things are there. I need to stop complaining about our prices.

Sorry i never answered you mate...yes it is the same and yea we get screwed here compared to what you guys pay for almost everything.

Got one wheel gaurd cut down to size and the brackets welded on,primed and painted.

No1 slacker reporting in for duty.
Had alot of parts ariving latly and had a day off today so got a bit of stuff done.
The universal shockabsorber mounts i got didnt fit the top of the struts so i had to cut 10mm out of the center and weld them back together.
Also had to make up some slieves for the rubber shock bushes as the bolts are 12mm and the holes in the rubber were 16mm.
Managed to find some tube and cut up the slieves, fited the shocks to the brackets and weld them to the frame.
The trailer place sent me out the right brackets for the disc brake calipers so i tack welded them on and tacked the fish plates on.
The axles coming out for the last time so i can weld it all up and paint it and while its out ill flip the trailer for the last time and do a couple of final welds underneath, fit the stabilisers and paint it for the final time.
Ive got both gaurds sandblasted and primed ready to go and one cut to side with brackets welded on.
Water tank gauge arived to so ill hopefuly have the bottom sorted and the water tank fited, wheels back on and ready for the floor to go in by the end of next weekend.

Heres a few pics.

Got rained off work and to wet outside to do much so i rubbed the finished gaurd back with wet n dry and gave it another coat.
Body deadner on the inner gaurds.
I was told by the bloke at the paint place id get a more durable finish if i brushed it on but ive had a hell of a task getting rid of brush marks.
I got the same paint in an aerosol as well with this gaurds had 2 coats over the brushed coat i sanded back then 800 grit wet n dry and then one more coat.
Any tips on brush painting?

The way my dad taught me to paint was to remember dry into the wet. A loaded brush, and paint from the dry into the wet in even strokes. Lift and repeat. Not back and forth like you are whitewashing a fence.

Never had a brush stroke in any kind of paint that I used.

I have watched your build from the start. Glad to see that you are back at it again.
