I like the disc brakes.
Can you describe their operation? Not common here in the states. Looks mechanical from the pics.
Are they only parking brakes or do they also act like surge brakes? Disc brake setups here are complicated. Probably some NHTSA interference.

Yea they are mechanical discs...cable actuated by the hitch or by the hand brake leaver.
They can be "turned off" by a latch on the hitch.

Thanks for the reply.
It surprises me with all the global trade, etc how much things still vary by location. I would have liked to have done discs on mine.
Just haven't seen anything like that here. I do plan on doing parking brakes, but electric drums are more common here.
Good job on the water tank, its got me rethinking mine!

When I started, I wasn't going to. Now I'm leaning towards it. Our MO is usually traveling to a destination and setting up a base camp, exploring from there. With our big trailer we could never use all the water it holds (125gallons). We do more remote camping now without the big trailer. That has made getting water easier to use portable jugs and gather as we go. I am considering doing a combination of both. Fill the tank and keep it topped off with jugs as needed. I haven't decided where to put it yet though.

Yea thats my MO as well.
This tanks a shade under 90 liters so should do the 2 of us with conservative water use for a number of days.
Ill probably take drinking water as well and use the tank for coffe ,cooking and everything else

Look forward to see your trailer come together. Too bad we cant see each others in use. Unless we invest in shipping containers!

Yea had a good weekened going backwards thanks felix!
Stripped all the axles ect out and turned the trailer on its side for the last time.....to weld a few spots underneath like the floor bracing i added plus shock mounts ect.
Welded both sides of the disc brake brackets and painted the axle and discs.

On another front im going for a job interview today that will be my first "proper job" aka working for someone else full time for over 10 years and my second time in many years.
Its going to effect my time a fair bit but the regular income means i can throw a bit more money at the build.
Hope to get the trailer reasembled this week ready for the wiring and floor ect
